The heart of Anima Shala is the practice of Shamanic Yoga, the Yoga of the origins. It is also known as Yoga of Power, where what we learn to enhance is the connection with our own Soul.
The roots of Shamanic Yoga tell us about the ancient Himalayan yogis such as Naropa, Tilopa, Marpa and Milarepa. They tell us about a pure, primordial, shamanic Yoga, which is not the yoga of form, but the yoga of essence. The Yoga of Ecstasy.
Shamanic Yoga is a transversal wisdom, which expands and manifests in different places in the world, from Mongolia, to Burma, from Japan, to the Andes, and we also find it in Africa and the Middle East. In the West it is related to Egyptian and Orphic traditions. It is an instinctive and intuitive knowledge of the human being who lives in deep connection with nature and its spirits.
That keeps the creative flame of life alive in their own hearts and visors. Who feels the continuity of life and dialogues with the Ancestors. Who lives in the dimension of no time and no space, where everything happens right Now. “Everything is happening right now” And from Now it is possible to access any time, whether before or after, or any dimension of space and consciousness.
Shamanic Yoga is Tantric Yoga, but not in the way it is known in the West. It consists of the original tantric teachings, which are inevitably shamanic and which emphasize the erotic union with the divine, with the soul. This union allows us to access unlimited creative potential from supreme love, from supreme bliss, from supreme consciousness.
Ecstasy is a state of transcendence of the self. It is a state of nonduality, where you are distinct but not separate from the rest of the universe.
(Selene Calloni Williams)
Shamanic Yoga tells us about the shamanic traditions of the planet, within which the practice of Soul Retrieval stands out, Soul Recovery, which helps us recover parts of ourselves that we have somehow lost in childhood, or in painful or traumatic experiences. . The purpose of Soul Retrieval is to live again from our totality and activate the full potential of our souls, the potential with which we came into the world to manifest the purpose of our lives. In Japan it is called Ikigai, which is worth living for.
The purpose of the Soul. This becomes our priority, remembering who we are and why we came to earth.
In shamanic Yoga we practice Asanas, physical postures, that always connect us with animals, animals, beings full of soul, which are our maximum potential for freedom and integrity. Embodying the energies of animals means recovering our instinctive, non-dual intelligence, beyond judgments and reasoning, beyond the prison of morality.
It means activating our primitive brain, becoming one with Nature and discovering new creative possibilities within us. In addition, it allows us to rescue the energy of the game from lightness and stop taking ourselves so seriously. It helps us recover the pleasure of Being. It helps us rekindle the fire of life within us, rekindling Enthusiasm.
In Shamanic Yoga we use different Breathing techniques to access expanded states of consciousness - Breathing guards the secret of Ecstasy.
By practicing the Asanas and Breathing we prepare to access the magical world of the Imaginal Jungle, our Anima Shala, the Tempo of the Soul, that is, the sacred psychic space of the Imagination. The verb imagine comes from the Latin: in me magician agere, I let the magician in me act.
“The Soul is the very act of imagining” said the father of archetypal psychology James Hillman. For the mystical Arabs, imagination is “the creative power of the Heart.”
And as my beloved teacher, Selene Calloni Williams, states, the wonderful magician who has transmitted to me the invaluable teachings of Shamanic Yoga, to enter the Imaginal Jungle we must abandon the ordinary mind and activate the Poetic Mind. Aurobindo called it Overmind, Hillman called it the Thought of the Heart. I will call it the Poetic Mind, as my teacher has transmitted to me.
Inside the Imaginal Jungle and through the poetic mind we fulfill the shamanic rituals, we become magicians, manifesting the magic of alchemy, transmutation and transvaluation, that is, we learn to transform our weaknesses, difficulties and discomforts into our more powerful allies. We learn to know and dialogue with the myth that governs our life. This is where we can imagine new possibilities, and detach ourselves from so many limiting programs and beliefs that have often led us to self-sabotage. This is where we incarnate and experience the ultimate goal of Shamanic Yoga which is Freedom.
"Shamanic Yoga helps you develop the poetic mind, to co-create your reality from the elevated vision of the soul."
